Since March 2024, we have worked with the Alliance for Climate Action South Africa, to establish and operationalise the Sustainable Transport Hub. Convened by WWF-SA, C40 Cities and the National Business Initiative, the Alliance brings together actors in the private sector and subnational levels of government committed to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050 in South Africa.
We conducted both firsthand and desktop research to assess the state of freight in South African cities and organized Hub meetings with representatives from the private sector, municipalities, academia, and civil society. Alongside facilitating these meetings, we have documented the process, produced reports, and are finalizing a research piece.
