Local South worked with C40 Cities and UrbanShift to develop a guide on public-private collaboration in the Global South. Based on 30 case studies from Africa, Latin America, and Asia, the guide illustrates five models of public-private collaboration and the tactics needed to successfully implement these.
This concise guide helps Global South cities collaborate with the private sector on urban sustainability. It highlights five collaboration models: Non-Commercial Convening, Enabling Innovation, Market-Shaping Policy, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), and Business-Focused International Partnerships.
Rather than providing a strict formula, the guide offers inspiration and tools for city officials to explore various collaboration methods. City leaders are encouraged to test and share their experiences to expand this growing repository of practical examples.
We joined C40 and UrbanShift at the UrbanShift Asia Forum 2023 in Delhi, India to launch the guide.
